The Victoria Drill Hall was opened in 1898 by the Boar War hero, Lord Roberts of Kandahar. The Headquarters of the 6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters was at 10 Corporation Street, which also served the Notts & Derby Mounted Bde Company ASC and ‘A’ Squadron Derbyshire Yeomanry.

A Dinner was held at the Drill Hall on 31st March 1908 to mark the change from the Volunteer Force to the Territorial Force under the “Territorial and Reserve Forces Act of 1907”.

  • Clay Cross (G Company)

  • Staveley (K Company)

In addition Company Drill Stations for the 6th Battalion were also based in:-
